PhD in Communications from Leicester University, England. Professor at the Faculty of Mass Communication at Cairo University, Egypt. His main areas of interest include media education, social marketing, information  and communication technology (ICT) and research methods. He published a few books on mass communication research methods, media education, advertising and public relations. He has also published a few articles on different areas of mass communication. He supervised more than 25 MA and PhD theses. He organized and participated in many international meetings in the Middle East, Europe and the United States. He also worked for some regional and international organizations including the United Nations. He is a member of the Scientific Board of Comunicar. He is also a member of the UNESCO's Expert Group on Media Literacy.

PhD in Information Sciences from Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). Professor of Journalism at the same university. Director of Communication and Education Cabinet and director of Journalism and Communication Sciences Department of UAB. He was the producer and director of education television at TVE (1991-1994). He is the president of the Network of Mediterranean Multimedia Formation Centres and the director of a variety of collections about Communication and Multimedia in Paidós Editorial. He is also a member of the UNESCO's Expert Group on Media Literacy. He has published several articles about Media Literacy, the last was "Media Literacy and New Humanism", with Tapio Varis (2012). He is a member of Media Literacy Experts Group, European Commission. He  also took part in the assessment of  UNESCO resume in Teacher's Training on Media Literacy. He is the present UNITWIN AoC Chair Holder.

Manuel Pinto

Professor in Communication Sciences, at the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Minho, where he lectures in the fields of Journalism Studies, Media History and Media Literacy. Being a former journalist and the Press Ombudsman for the daily Portuguese newspaper "Jornal de Notícias", he is currently Coordinator of the Media and Journalism Line and a member oft he Board of the Communication and Society Research Centre (CSRC), a Research Unit placed at the University of Minho. Manuel Pinto is a member of the Portuguese Association of Communication Sciences (SOPCOM) and Vice-President of the "Media Education Research Section" of the  International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR).

She is the Director of MA Programme in Social Communication with minor in Communication and Education in the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (PUC). She is a professor at the Faculty of Information Sciences in UAB and professor in PUC. She worked for 19 years as a journalist. She was part of the Project Childhood/ Consensus (1995), approved by the Cataluña Parliament. She was advisor to  the team of the curriculum in Language and Communication area of the Ministry of Education in Chile. She is the author of several publications about the relation between media and education. She is a member of experts group in Media Education of the Council of National Television of Chile.

PhD is Vice-chancellor of the University of Huelva (Spain). Leads the fields of Technology and Innovation and is a Chair Professor of the Department of Education. Chairman of Group Comunicar, in Andalusia, a veteran in Spain in Education through Mass Media. He is the manager of the Iberoamerican scientific magazine of Communication and Education «Comunicar» (ISSN: 1134-3478), which is distributed in Europe and America.  He is also scientific advisor to several national and international magazines, as well as manager of «Agora» Investigation Group in the Andalusian Plan of Investigation, developing various investigation projects. He has participated in many educational/investigation activities in the didactic use of mass media and has been the organizer and chairman of several scientific committees of international academic events.

Gabriel Jaraba

Journalist since 1967 and BA in Journalism, he has worked in press, radio, television and Internet. Associated professor at the Faculty of Communication Sciences of Autonomous University  of Barcelona. (UAB) Researcher in new social media in the net, and an activist in promotion of the uses of Internet as a cultural democracy element. He is studying the PhD in Journalism and Communication Science. During his career in the media has been a member of the founding team of El Periódico de Catalunya, where he was associate editor. Until 2010 has worked at the catalan public TV network, TV3, being Deputy Programming Manager, Head of Projects and member of the Managing cabinet.

PhD in Social Sciences at the EHESS (1993), his thesis dealt with the archetypes of Xenophobia and Racism in the case of the Spanish moriscos. He also has another PhD in Communication Sciences with a thesis on political publicity. He is a professor at the Department of Journalism at the Faculty of Communication Sciences at Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). He is a member of the PhD program Communication and Education and director of the journal RUTA. He also coordinates the program of the Universidad Internacional de la Paz. He is the author of some books, i.e. Nacionalismo, racismo y xenofobia en la comunicación (Paidós, 1997); Comunicación y educación en la sociedad de la información and Nuevos lenguajes y conciencia crítica, (Paidós, 2002). He is  also the author of other scientific publications. Within the Mentor Project sponsored by the UNESCO on education in the mass media he has published the handbook Guía sobre el lenguaje de la televisión y los valores. 100 preguntas y respuestas (UNESCO, 2005).

Pere Oriol Costa

PhD in Information Sciences from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). He has a degree in Journalism and Philosophy and Arts  from Universidad de Navarra. He is a professor of Journalism and Communication Sciences in the UAB. He was member of the Management Council of Radio televisión Pública Catalana (CCRTV -TV3 y Catalunya Ràdio-), during the period from 1983 and 1998. He was also director of the newspaper Tele- expres in Barcelona.
In the Public Communication and organizational field, he has led a few projects of communication for several companies and institutions. Moreover, he has overseen electoral campaigns and campaings about political  image. Besides, he has acted as an expert in the  European Parliament and Parliamentarian Control Commission of Radio and Television in the Congress of deputies.

Carolyn Wilson

She is president of the Association for Media Literacy in Ontario, Canada. Principal author and Co-coordinator of the UNESCO curriculum for teachers in Media and Information Literacy.
